You can take these legal steps under Indian law to stop unwanted family contact Move out as an adult and establish your own residence you have full legal right no one can force you to return or stay with them Send a lawyer drafted no contact notice stating you do not wish any communication and will hold them responsible for any harassment If they harass or threaten file for a protection order under the Domestic Violence Act the court can stop them from contacting you or approaching you You can register a criminal complaint under Indian Penal Code section 506 for criminal intimidation or section 509 for insulting the modesty of a woman to prevent threats or stalking Keep a record of all attempts to contact such as messages calls or visits these will support enforcement of protection orders by police or magistrate

If you wish to legally sever ties with your family and prevent future contact, you may issue a public legal notice stating that you are disassociating yourself from them. Additionally, you can file an affidavit of disownment through a lawyer and declare that you do not wish to maintain any relationship or contact. While Indian law does not recognize legal disowning in the sense of completely erasing blood relations, such steps can serve as a public declaration. Also, consider preparing a registered will to prevent future inheritance claims. Please consult in person for a more detailed and legally binding solution tailored to your circumstances.
