01-Oct-2023 (In Family Law)
My age is 25 and my girl's friend age is 20.our religion is Hindu. we both are from rural area in west bengal.i hasn't settled yet that's why i can't marry her.sometimes in our area parents don't ask their daughter for marry just find a man by their own choice and by force(i.e taken away mobile phone, close day by day in a room ) give the marry with him. In this case if my girlfriend promise me for marry by using of stamp paper is it valid!!! Or stamp paper promise of marriage is legal!! Or by using this stamp paper may i protect her from marry with another guy!!

No because she is now adult and can do anything by her family pressure or any other means. almost you both are adult and you both can marry by way of Registration or as per Hindu Rites and Customs. The validation of stamp paper in this regard are not stand before any law.

Consent of marriage on stamp paper is not valid. You can marry under Special Marriage Act by given one month notice and you require three witnesses at the time of final signing, no need your parent's consent.

Marriage agreement is not valid. It can not be enforceable as per law.It would be better for you to marry her under provision of special marriage Act.In India every body is free to marry as per his own choice. No one can force her to marry a particular person against her choice.
