What are the rights of a child that will be born outside wedlock? Please read carefully we are not married and It wasn't a live in relationship either. I was under the impression that it was a serious relationship but after I was pregnant he said it wasn't. I want to know the procedure if I have to get maintenance for the child.Also, what case can I file against him for harassing me to have an abortion after I said I wouldn't. I'm a Christian, he's a muslim- not his family. I would also like a lawyer who is open minded to help fight my case. Thanks in advance.
Your companion cannot force you to abort the child. If he persists, you may lodge a criminal complaint. As you are not legally married yet, the question of maintenance does not arise, either for you or for the child yet to be born.
