Registration and stamp fee for settlement deed

31-May-2025 (In Family Law)
Can I get a property from my brother’s wife by settlement deed. What is the stamp and registration charges for the same. Some say 3% and some 7%. And can I give this property to my son by settlement deed after I receive it

It will be treated as non-family settlement and registration and stamp charges applicable for sale ie 7% and 2%.. However this can be reduced considerably. You can later transfer it to your son and it will be treated as family settlement
