procedure for marking docuemnt exhibit

If during cross confrontation of the petitioner by respondent lawyer, some facts are denied. However, the documentary evidence has been filed on some next dates which proves the same ...ow the other party has not given any say on that and hence the production was allowed and exhibit was given....My question is do we need to ask exhibit on the document itself or only permission application production allowed and exhibit is fine. Can we ask during argument time to give the doc separate exhibit if all the facts are proved based on the wrong contention of cross of specific date and venue as well no say from their side..?What is the exact process? Please note that he is not the author of this document but he just confirmed that on this particular date and venue this specific did not happen and the documentary evidences shows that it did.
