Brother, u can file a police complaint with full facts, by disclosing date of demand, article demanded, and full role of each, and how they harassed your wife. More over you also can move to court with the same facts, without approaching police.

Dear client, you have not disclosed how old your marriage is ? further if your parents harassing your wife mentally or physically on the pretext of demand of dowry you can make a police complaint against your parents in your local police station or in your local women cell where you are residing while making the complaint write all the details of the incidents very carefully and date wise.

U can move complaint before local police station through ur wife under section 406, 498A IPC and Dowry Act, thereafter police will investigate the matter and register said case against them if the same is made out in investigation.

you can file an FIR and initiate a criminal case, against your parents under the section 3 domestic violence act, SECTION 3&4 of dowry prohibition act and section 498A of IPC. as you and your wife live seperate and if the house of your parents is their self acquired property then you dont have any legal right over that house, but criminal proceedings can be initiated against them and you can claim compensation too for causing cruelty and demanding dowry.
