Parents and sister torturing me
11-Feb-2025 (In Family Law)
I’m 26. I’m facing mental harassment and torture from my parents and sister. They beat me and tell me to go and find a pg if I try to leave the house they beat me up. What can I do in this case as I don’t want to live them anymore. I have heard the police don’t interfere in domestic problems. I have pictures and recordings where there is proof of how they behave. I’m facing depression because of this.
According to Sections 127 and 118 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (BNS), family members' physical assault is considered criminal force or cause hurt and wrongful restraint under Section 113. You can go to the closest police station to lodge a complaint or seek protection.
If the police refuse to help you, you can approach the Hon’ble High Court. If you are looking for legal assistance, you can connect with me.
Well, you can lodge a Police Complaint and get this complaint converted into FIR against your Parents and Sister who have been mentally and physically harrassing you. You can also file a Civil Suit in Court against your Parents to seek Maintenance from them if you are unmarried Daughter, who is still dependent upon your Parents.
