My sister doing court marriage with muslim boy.
28-Mar-2025 (In Family Law)
My question is, my sister doing court marriage in special marriage act because I am belonging to Brahmin family we doesn't want to accept this marriage, i have any options to become this marriage null and void please suggest me
According to law the marriage cannot be made null and void by any person associated with the person getting married. In case of girl if she is mentally fit and has attained majority in age then she can get married. However the family can make her understand the consequences of marrying outside the religion
If your sister and her to be groom are both adults and doing this out of their free will and consent, the courts will not interfere in such a situation. The courts would only be able to interfere if there were a forced conversion or something that would be violative of the law. Hope this helps! Please feel free to reach out for further clarification if required.
