Me and my husband want to leave our abusive (dependent) parents in law

06-May-2023 (In Family Law)
I am living with my husband and inlaws on rent. We have spent lacs of rupees on my father in law cancer treatment. But my mother in law is very abusive/violent and hits me during pregnancy. My husband is scared for my baby and me and we want to leave themn They have 2 properties. 1 shop which is illegally occupied by a tenant who doesn't pay rent and 2nd property which is an under construction building. So basic they have no income source. nn1. Can we leave them legally?n2. Will they be able to charge us for abandonment under maintenance and welfare of parents and senior citizens act 2007 or (2019 ammendment bill), as my mother in law has strong relatives who will not support her financially but will definitely support them in filling case against us

Dear queriest, as per your query you have mentioned that you and your husband want to leave your matrimonial home and stay separate since your in laws are not so cooperative, in such case you can stay separate and help them financially so that they won't claim anything from you, for more information about the same kindly contact me.
