Marriage without tying the knot

19-Jul-2023 (In Family Law)
Hello, I'm looking for a query regarding getting married without tying a knot. I'm a Hindu planning to marry a girl who is also a Hindu from same community. And the marriage has been arranged by the parents. I would like to know whether I need to tie a knot to get married? Can we just exchange rings and sign in the register office to consider ourselves married? Is it mandatory for me to tie a knot and register the marriage? Can't we simply sign in front of our parents after exchanging rings? Please help as this is really critical for our wedding planning. Thanks
