Marriage with my second cousin from my mother's side.

Sir can I marry my second cousin from my mother's side? I'm a Hindu and he is too. We had had one great grandparents but we differ from our grandparents. Is it possible that we can marry? Our coustom doesn't permits us to have this kind of marriage but I wanted to ask is it legal for both of us to marry each other through Hindu marriage act or special marriage act?
