Land partition dispute between family on patta land

We Have a property which is in joint patta (my grandfather and my relative grandfather ).we have 14000 sq.feet area. my grandfather who have six childrens (4 brothers and 2 sisters)and my grandmother died. my relative grandfather who have 2 childrens(2 girls)and his wife is alive. since this is in joint patta how this land is going to get patrtitioned.either to halves for both families which means each family get 7000 sq feet or it will be divided as 9 parts (6+3)which every one gets 1555 sq feet.my religion is hindu.

Hello ,

As per succession act, T.P Act, the joint patta of two grand fathers shall be divided in to two halves. The legal heirs of each grand father shall divide the property accordingly. It should not be divided in to 9 portions.
