As per succession act the land of your grandfather will go to his sons, daughters and wife equally if he has died intestate (i.e. Without any will). But the land has to acquired from his own funds and should not be inherited or 'dadalai' property.

Dear Sir, Did your grandfather leave any will before dying? The property of the Hindu male dying intestate (without a will), is distributed among his heirs according to Section 8 and 9 of the Hindu Succession Act, 1956. As per these, the property of a Hindu dying intestate devolves upon his heirs of Class I who take the property to the exclusion of all other heirs. Suppose: A male Hindu dies intestate (without a will) and is survived by his mother, widow, son and daughter, the property of A will be divided between 4 parts, i.e., each person will get a 1/4th share. In your case, the whole property will delve upon the son if the mother, widow, and daughter are not present. Brothers have no right in your grandfather's property. If he had left a will, it will delve according to the contents of the will. Hope this is helpful.

Dear Mr. Grandson, It all depends on who owns the land, and who outlives the others. If your Grandfather was the sole-owner, his son i.e. your father will get the land. If your Grandfather was not the owner, his brothers may have a stake in the land. Always seek consultation on property matters.
