How to sell my family property

Religion : Hindu. I have my father property which i wish to sell. Both my parents are deceased. I and my sister are only legal heirs to the property.Do i need to transfer the ownership to our name or can i sell it directly.

Hi

In this case you have to transfer the said property on your name.

For this purpose you have to seek rights under succession act through civil court

After you obtain decree from the court then only you can sell your property

you can directly sell the property as you are the rightful owner of your deceased parents only few formality shall be required to be submitted to appropriate authority. also the formality of the said depends on the kind of property you possess and wish to sell
