How to open HUF bank a/c in nationalized bank

Hello Sir / Madam. I need some advice on HUF. My father passed away 2 years ago and we have transferred all his assets in HUF. I am now the Karta of the HUF. My Brother stays in US along with his wife. No children. They have broken all relations with us. Can they still be part of HUF created by my father. I want to open HUF Bank A/c in a nationalized bank. Need your guidance.?

Dear Sir/ Madam, you have to obtain succession certificate from the court for bringing legal heirs on record , though your brother broken all relation with you , he still belongs to HUF , you have to mention the names of all HUF Member , stating you are being the Karta of HUF, then only you can proceed to open the Bank account

You have to contact any bank official with your KYC documents which they will prescribe. You need to have a PAN for the HUF. The account can be operated by the Karta. Just by dint of breaking emotional relations you cannot dissociate your brother from the HUF. A HUF cannot be broken into parts. In case you want to break the HUF all members need to agree.
