Me and my wife were hindus but married according to Christian religious manner.what is the procedure of void marriage in court.in how many days court give void marriage order.what are the prerequisites for the void marriage petition in court.

The term “void” can in general parlance be understood to be a synonym of the word “illegal”. Hence anything which is void would have one consequence for sure – that it would be illegal. A void marriage therefore means an illegal marriage for further you can contact us at any time.

Dear Sir,

Your marriage is void ab initio. Please note that for a void marriage, no declaration under Sec 11 of Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 is necessary. In simple terms, marriage which is void ab initio does not effect or alter the status of party and neither party is under any obligation to seek declaration of nullity in the court.
