Hindu Muslim Marriage Registration Procedure

13-Nov-2023 (In Family Law)
I am a Hindu and my wife is a Muslim. We got married by Hindu rituals in a private ceremony that was attended only by our immediate families in June 2021. I just recently got to know that marriage registration is compulsory. I have mentioned my spouse's name in many legal and government documents as well. How can I register my marriage using the actual date of marriage on the Certificate? Will it be registered under Special Marriage Act as neither my wife nor me have changed our religion and do not prefer to change it either.

Yes it will be registered under the special marriage act before the SDM of your area if you and your wife has not changed your religion. Three witnesses will be required with Aadhaar Card and PAN Card. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.
