Hello.

Firstly the Husband has to inherit the property first from the Mother in Law and after inheriting the property, only then the Granddaughter can claim right because the Father is alive as of now, so the granddaughter cannot claim a direct share in the Mother in Laws property. The property has to be first inherited by the Father and then later on has to be inherited to the Granddaughter as per her Share.

Does your sister and B-I-L getting Divorced or what?

Which case is pending in court?

Whatever whether they are getting divorced or not. A grand child (any) has succession right equally in the ancestral property as compare to remaining successor of the same generation.
