False case filed against me what to do

This is a family scenario. A daughter in law had put herself ablaze at home. On noticing, the in laws took her to the nearby hospital immediately. But, she suffered 87%burns and has 1% survival chances (doctors say). Although she gave a statement to the doctor (not police) on arrival that she did it herself. But now she is not in a condition to give statement to police. While her family members are constantly threatening her in laws about a possible police case. How do the in laws exercise their right to justice and prevent any further mishap to their family?

Ensure that the statement given by her to doctor is reported by the doctor to the police. Further, file a Sanha in the police regarding the same. Also, have a discussions with her parents and have the conversation recorded and if they make any demands, file a case for extortion against them.
