my religion is hindu. i has engaged with one girl. due to some reasons. we have informs to girls family for cancellation of engagement. they are filed 420 case. i heard recently SC issued judgement issued . engagement cancel is not criminal activity. sc suggest to file damage suit of function of engagement. we request to provide of that order to us.
yes it does not come under criminal law, if the case is already registered then you can file Quash petition in the High Court but you have to prove that the reasons for breaking engagement genuine, it is a good case for quasing
