Does the wife have any right in the ancestral property of husband

do wife having any right in her husband's ancestral property? the couple not having any kids... and the husband is having 1 brother and 1 sister.... they both are married and having 2 kids each

For giving a proper reply, the date given by you is not sufficient. In general ( if in kerala) the male son born before 1978 is only having right by birth in the ancestral property, so the age of the husband is mandatory for answering your question. Secondly after the demise of the husband the rights devolves upon the wife ( or by transfer of existing rights by husband who is alive)

Hai. Yes. the wife do have her share in the husbands property during her lifetime. She can transfer and charge on the PARTICULAR SHARE that she holds with ease. But if she doesnt transfer or confer it the right will cease and go back to her husbands siblings and parents as mentioned in succession provisions. Hope am upto ur query
