Defence against Senior Citizen Act

07-Jan-2024 (In Family Law)
I'm a 21-year old male and living separately from my father with my mother for the last 5 years. I've recently completed my graduation and currently unemployed . My father is 63 years old who was a government servant, recieves pension of 75,000 per month and had also received 2 crores at the time of retirement as gratuity and other benefits. He's also under treatment for cancer. Recently he has been threatening to sue me through the senior citizen act, does he have any grounds to do so?

If you have been acting in a manner which does him wrong then he can bring a suit against you. If not, then no! Based on your words, since you do not live with him, your acts directly don't affect him rather indirectly. If he has been asking you to maintain him, even then his cause doesn't sustain.

No, you are living separately then they are not having any right to sue you regarding that matter you will hire an advocate and fix an appointment with your advocate then they will help you to provide better legal consultancy regarding your issue
