Custody of a Child and Filing Case In Other State

My wife resides in other state with her family, she filed a case 125c against me. We are living separately from the past one year, I just want to know that can I file a case of custody of baby girl in my state.
No, you can not child custody case here, because as per section 9 of Guardians and wards act, 1980 .. the child custody case can only be filed in the place where the child ordinarily resides.
