Clarity on marrying divorced lady with son(14) living dual custody

My divorced friend who has a daughter planned to marry a divorced lady having a son of age 14. The son is living with his Father , his Mother meets him frequently as that is a dual custody. That will be great if my friend can understand if there will be any mandetory legal adoption and looking after conditions applied on him for the son of his would be wife post marriage or any other complication can be raised. Please let us know what all legal clarifications and protections should be taken.
Well, if your friend is going to marry a Divorced Woman having the mutual custody of her son with her Divorced Husband, then, your friend who is thinking to marry that Divorced Woman may have to bear the responsibility of 14 years of child of that Divorced Woman on moral grounds, but no legal compulsion is upon him
