can my friend convert to islam & remarry a Muslim girl

My friend he is a hindu religion and got married in July 2006 my wife lived with me only two months and He had a son. In Sep 2006 she has gone to her parents from then to now she not coming to His home or nor to contact him. He send a notice through a lawyer to comeback to his home for his notice against she file a filed 498a and MC case. He gone to jail for 15days and he lost his job. Now he is suffering and treated for sugar and as well as psychiatric treatment. . We are suggested to convert in islam & remarry a Muslim girl to take care of him or is any other solution to his or suggest.

First your friend should get divorced and also close the cases of 498A and MC.
Subsequent to divorce, he can marry a girl of his choice(hindu/muslim/christian).
When the first wife is alive or when the divorce proceedings are pending, your friend cannot marry another woman even if he converts to ISLAM.

As I understand the marriage with the hindu girl is subsisting, so he cannot remarry again else he will be liable for u/s. 494 IPC. However, there is nothing to stop him from converting his religion. After the first marriage is put to an end by the family court. You can proceed with marrying the said muslim girl. You have to fight the 498 and MC case in the court.
