Can I marry my father's sister's daughter. Is it legal under Hindu law

I am in love with my Father's sister's daughter and she too love me a lot and we want to get married. We are Hindu it is illegal in Hindu. I want your advice how to make it legal does we need to change our religion. Thank You

No, it is generally not permissible to marry your father's sister's daughter,who is your first cousin, is not allowed under the Hindu Marriage Act due to the concept of "sapinda" relationship. However, some exceptions exist if local customs or traditions allow for such marriages.

hai legally there is no solution cuz u r under prohibitted relationship. no change even if u change religion. but if u live on ur own aftr both attains 18years no1 can stand in ur way. but there is a biological problem. do consult a doctor n have ur blood checkd n ask for any complications. i have a friend who did the same but they ended up in having problems to consumate hope am upto ur query

Among all Hindu communities except the Nambootiris, cousin marriage was popular. A boy had a rightful claim to marry the daughter of his maternal uncle or paternal aunt. Among some Hindus one could marry one's sisters daughter such as Reddiar's and Tamil Brahmins. I your custom allows the said marriage, you can proceed ,otherwise it will be void.

According to Hindu Law it is coming under prohibited degree of relationship. But if there is a custom which permits it you can do so. In kerala there is a custom permitting marriage of fathers's sister's daughter.
