Can I file defamation case on my sister?

Before 6 Months, My sister got married with the boy whom she loved. Now she ran away from the house. She has left the nuptial chain & a letter back in the house. In that letter, she states that she was compelled for this marriage. Everybody in our family knows that this is a love marriage. She has written wrong about both the families. Now she is not agreeing for mutual divorce also. I know that everything written in the letter is false and moreover I have spent too much of money for this marriage. Can I eligible for filing a defamation case against my sister to prove that she is wrong.This is marriage is registered under Hindu Marriage act.
No , you cannot, it will not come under the purview of defamation. If you take anything seriously and file complaint then it would turn against you ad boomerang. Let the issue to decide by elders of the family members.

What the husband intend to to do after she had ran away. The spouse alone can file either for restitution of conjugal rights petition or for divorce.
