If the property of your mother is ancestral , then She can not claim the property which is in the name of your mother, the ultimate right over your mothers property after her will come to you and your brother. She can claim the her share from the share of your brother after partition of the property.

Whether the property is ancestral or self acquired by your mother in law? Whether they had make any will about it? wife can claim share only in the husbands property and not on any other property. Thank u.
