Can a man compel his wife to contribute for household expenses

Hello I would like to know whether a man can legally compel his working wife to contribute equally towards household expenses.Also if a man is bound by law to contribute some amount for his wife's maintenance even if she is earning. Religion for both is Hinduism

yes husband can compel his wife for contribute equally towards household expenses. if wife is working so she has to contribute equally for household there is no reason for refuse if she will not contribute equally you can also refuse to maintain to her there is many laws if wife is working both can contribute equally.
