Are there any legal consequences of breaking an engagement?

My boyfrnd's parents had done his roka without his knowledge bcz they didnt wnt us to get married. He got to knw abt the roka frm the neighbours. Evn girl family didnt meet him or show the girl to him. When he protested,his family emotionaly blackmailed him and his father got himself hospitalised. He forcefuly had to do the ring ceremony.Till then he didnt even knw whom he getting engaged with or any of her whereabouts as his father knew that if he get to know her he will tell her family the whole truth. After the ring ceremony he got tht girl's number and aftr some tym he told her family abt the situation in which this engagement had happned. Now even the girl family are forcing him to get married wth the girl even after knowing he lov smone else. His father even threaten him. Now we are planning to get married in court. Now i want to know if we get married then will there be any law against my boyfriend? Bcz all fault was his father's as he didnt tell girl family anything before.
I don't think there will be any problem in your marriage with him. However, in case your so called husband has made relations with the other girl than yes of course it is going to be a big problem for him as a prima facie case of rape on the pretext of promise of marriage will be made out and later on he will have to defend the case for getting acquitted. If he has accepted any consideration like cash etc kindly return it back. As far action to be taken from girls father is concerned it could be at the max some civil cases for breach etc which you guys will be able to defend/manage.
