Abussive husband took lot of dowry now not contacting what to do

05-Jul-2023 (In Family Law)
I have done PhD in Biology. I got married last year. My husband works in UK. I went there with him after marriage. After two months of my marriage he started abusing me mentaly. He tried to beat me once when i was there. He also abused my family and relatives. He didn't allow me to remain in contact with my family members or relatives. I came to India in May 2017 with him and  i was pregnant at that time. His behaviour was very rude. He never understand my health problem when i fell ill even in pregnancy. After that i went to my parent's home than he blocked my telephone number along with all my family members number. My father spent a huge amount of money on my wedding as he wanted to get marry like a royal family. He demanded cash as well and my father gave 25 lakh indian rupees cash. He went to UK on 20 may 2017. After that he sent me threatning emails that he will give me divorce. After going there he has changed his employment. What should I do now?

Dear Mam, Its not clear in your query whether you want to stay with your husband or you want a divorce from him? If you want to stay with him, file an application under Section 9 of Hindu Marriage Act, otherwise file a divorce petition.

Dnt not worry. There are few options that you can opt. First of all i will advice you to sit with family members of both side and try to sought out and if no results come out then you can file section 9 of HMA case on him to call him back to india . And ask him to take you with him. Also you can file domestic voilence on him for threthening you abusing you and for beatings. First decide what you want his company or not. Accordingly choose options. Section 9 is for joining the company of your spouse. Domestic voilence is for all misbehaviour done on you by ur spouse. For further clariffication kindly contact . Here to assist you.

As per your quary it was not clear that still you want to live with that person or you want separated from. If you want to live that person you need to file section9 HMA or if you to separated from that person you need to take several cases against him or his family members
