16 years old can I live separate from father

03-Jun-2023 (In Family Law)
I'm a 16 year old boy and studying in the 11th grade. My father is a pathetic idiot who likes to abuse me and mentally torture me. I might even have evidence to prove it. I don't want to live with him anymore. Does he have a legal right to force me into staying with him? And is there a way by which I can live and survive on my own without his support and lead a happy life?

You can certainly have an independent life to come out of the torture faced by you. Infact, your father will be held liable for criminal actions. The law is there to protects your rights. He cannot anyway force you to stay with him as the law is only concerned with the wishes and welfare of the minor.

HI
Till such time you are 18 years, you are a minor in eyes of law.
However, keep focused on what you want to achieve yourself and if possible move to a residential school if your parents can afford.
Or you can spend more time in your passion(studying or sports or music etc) sort of ignoring your father and you can lead a happy life.
