Sir I m hindu and my girl frnd is muslim. We want to get marry . My questions are:- Q1- Is it compulsory to change religious anyone of us ? Q2- Is it neccessery to appoint a lawyer for marriage in front of marriage registrar. Q3 - what documents and stam paper are required at the time of marriag? Q4. If our family are not ready and we got married then will there be any prblm getting security from police ?

A1 . You can marry under the Special Marriage Act, 1954 and you have to follow the procedures that are described in the link:http://registration.ap.gov.in/CitizenServices/ACT/SpecialMarriage/SpecialMarriageProcedure.pdf
A.2 You have to appoint an advocate in order to give you the best advice and for the speedy work.

Ans. 1. No, it is not compulsory to change religion for anyone you.

Ans. 2. Even without lawyer, marriage can be registered on the desk of marriage registrar. But there should be two witness each from boy's and girl's side.

Ans. 3 List of Documents for Registering a Marriage in India

These are the documents (application forms and proof) required for marriage registration in India.

a. Marriage Registration Application Form (or Memorandum of Marriage)
b. Affidavit by the Husband and Wife
c. Husband and Wife’s proof of age (Birth Certificate, Aadhar, Passport, Voter Id, PAN Card, Matriculation Certificate, Domicile Certificate, etc)
d. Husband and Wife’s proof of residence (Ration Card, Aadhar Card, Passport, Election Voter Id, PAN Card, Utility bill like telephone/electricity, etc)
e. Individual Photos of the Husband and Wife and Marriage photos of both
f. Certificate of religious marriage issued by a Priest, Pandit, Maulvi, Kazi, Iman, etc (This is in case of a religious wedding)
g. Photo and Proof of Identity of 3 Witnesses (Ration Card, Aadhar Card, Passport, Election Voter Id, PAN Card, Driver’s License, Utility bill like telephone/electricity, etc)
h. Wedding Card (If not present, then an affidavit on Stamp Paper with 3 witnesses)
i. Divorce Decree Certificate (In case either or both spouses are divorcees)
j. Death Certificate (In case of widow or widower marriage)

Ans. 4 Just file a complaint in police station and apply for police protection. If you still not get it, then file a complaint in criminal court.
