The documents required for applying for a payment gateway is similar to opening a current account with a bank. The requirement varies based on type of business which could be Proprietorship Firm, Partnership Firm, Pvt Ltd Company, One Person Company or a
Limited Liability Partnership. Please see the list of documents required by more or less all payment gateways, though there may be few requirements varying and gateway specific.

1. Individual Document Required based on incorporation

a) Proprietorship Firm: Pan Card of the individual or firm signed by the sole proprietor and proprietor stamp on it.

b) Partnership Firm: Copy of Partnership firm PAN Card. (Mandatory)

c) LLP / Pvt Ltd / Ltd Firms: Copy of firm PAN Card and Certificate of Incorporation (Mandatory)

2. Govt. Issued Certificate(Mandatory) - Common Set of Document based on type of incorporation:

Any one of the following which should contains Firm Name, Address with Pin code, Reg. Number, Govt. Seal and Attestation & Validity (if any)

a. Central Sales Tax Registration Number or Regional Sales Tax Number.
b. Government issued business license –Trade/Municipal License
c. Government registration authorizing the merchant to run the business.
d. Importer / Exporter Code i.Certificate of Incorporation/Registration Number
e. Excise Registration Number

3. Additional Mandatory Documents Required:

a. Verification of Authorized Signatories Signature
b. Bank Verification Letter (Mandatory)
c. Authorized Signatory Partner ID Proof: (Only Pan Card Is Accepted.) (Mandatory)
d. Authorized Signatory Address Proof: (Any One of the Following) (Mandatory)

4. Along with website, checklist to be followed :

a. Contact us Page: Should contain Firm name, support phone no., support email id and complete address, the address should match with the address mentioned on Firm Govt. issued certificate.

b. Home Page: Should be accessible from all the pages.

c. About us Page: Firm legal name should be mentioned along with a brief description about the Firm.

d. Product/Service Page: Pricing and Description should be clear.

e. Return, Refund and cancellation policy Page: Should be complete and clear.

f. Shipping/Delivery policy Page: Should be complete and clear.

g. Privacy Policy Page: Should be complete and clear.

h. Terms & conditions and Disclaimer Policy Page: The T&C should be clear and complete along with the line, “The (website url) is owned and operated by (Firm legal name). Disclaimer should also be precise.

i. Booking flow: Complete transaction flow till the payment mode selection page should be available.

j. Login and Register Tab: Customer Registration process and guidelines should be available.

What should Not Be On the Site?

There should not be any dead/ non-functional links, Beta Version, Coming Soon Banner and Password locked web page and Redirection to some other website. Products/Services without pricing are not allowed by acquiring banks.
