Procedure to change the birth date in Birth certificate

I need to change the birth date in the birth certificate available with municipal corporation online system. the dates mentioned in school leaving certificate, other and in passport are same, but only birth certificate date is not matching with other documents and I want change it to as per passport and other records. what is the procedure of it.
1. You should apply to the Registrar of Births and Deaths to rectify the error in your birth certificate.
2. If the application for rectification of error is rejected by the registrar then you can go to court and file a lawsuit for court directions to be issued to the registrar to change the name.
