Payment of differential stamp duty

If a bank guarantee is executed outside Maharashtra of stamp paper of Rs. 2000/- but actual duty is Rs. 500 in that state.
In Maharashtra the stamp duty applicable is Rs. 2000. Does duty need to be paid again when the document is received in Maharashtra
no if it is duly registered in the state where it is to be registered then there is no need to again pay stamp duty on the same documents for which you have previously paid the stamp duty in another state.
