Made illegal documents for electricity meter will I be punished

I made fake documents for e!ectricity meter and i got the extra meter but then i realised that i am doing wrong and i cancelled the meter, will i be punished if ill get caught?
Making forged documents is a criminal offence. If you are caught, you will be punished under IPC.
