Legal procedure regarding passport verification.

I received scn from RPO. I replied to passport office.again they initiate the police verification.anyone know how long it will take to finish the process..
Usually, police verification takes about a month's time. Contact the police station having jurisdiction over the place of your residence. After verification, the local police station will forward the report to the SP's Office from where it will be sent to the RPO.
