Is Stamp duty charged on Relinquishment deed in regard to property

16-Jan-2023 (In Documentation Law)
My grandfather died in 1996. He had two sons and four daughters. Out of the two sons, one died after him. Hence died son's six heirs were added in the list. Six heirs of died son - his wife, two son & three daughters. Now four daughters of my grandfather & three daughters of his died son want to release their rights to the property by way of hakka sod document. How much stamp duty will be charged. Please advise.

Point-A—Normally relinquishment in other cases will be 1% of the market value of the relinquished property. But, since your son is close blood related, the charges will be very nominal and lumpsum. I cannot say exactly, because it differs from state to state.
Point B—Let it be a part of multi storied buildings, the rules are same. Regarding rate, you have to enquire from the concerned sub registrar office.
