How to sell property when the title papers are not there

My father-in-law residing in house since over 50 years but do not possess any document for the property...how can we create the property documents as we would need this for selling the property...please help...

NO, a property cannot be registered if original sale deed is not with the owner, but a copy of the deed acquired from the registrar is available and name of the owner is displayed in the Encumbrance certificate.
