How to get caste corrected in documents?

16-Sep-2023 (In Documentation Law)
Hello, I'm resident of Aurangabad, Maharashtra, I am belongs to Gawali (NT-B) caste, but during school period My father registered my caste Gopal (NT-B), assuming Both are same, there is no difference in both caste, but in govt. records both are different castes but belongs to same group category i.e. NT-B. and my father is also having the Gopal Caste's certificate, on that basis my caste certificate is also registered with Gopal caste. but now I have to get Caste validity certificate for further education. but don't have sufficient documents as my all relatives documents are registered under Gawali caste.which couldn't be considered as supportive documents as both castes are different in records. Pls suggest me, what to do next either make the changes in documents of me and my father's,if yes then how to do it ? or is there any way to get the caste validity certificate with only available minimum documents(that will be My father's caste certificate, my T.C and caste certificate )

You cannot change your community/caste in the records now.
Conversion from one caste to another caste is not allowed.
If you do not want to avail any benefit available to the community under reservation, it is your choice and also it not a compulsion on you to mention your caste in any application.
The latest Madras high court ruling says that if a candidate do not want to disclose his caste or religion in any application, he cannot be compelled to do so by any authority.
There is a statutory rule in the government of Tamilnadu in this regard.
Thus you cannot change your community i the record but can decide about not mentioning your caste in any forms or applications and can also decide about not availing the reservation privileges available for the community.
