How to change the name of Ownership in Society records?

My father has a flat for which is currently nominee in my mother. Can he give letter to Society that after my mother I will be sole owner of the flat. Please advise.
He can write a will wherein he bequeaths his flat to your mother till her lifetime.Alternately he can will to both you and your mother as joint owners and make the changes in the society nomination records also.
