How to Change Date of Birth in 10th Marksheet?

14-Jun-2024 (In Documentation Law)
Sir, I need to correct my date of birth in my 10th marksheet. The marksheet shows 5-3-1990, but my actual date of birth is 5-3-1992. Since my family is uneducated and I come from a backward area in education, they were unaware of this mistake. Can I change my DOB in my 10th marksheet? Please guide me on the process.

Generally, it is very difficult and often not allowed to change the date of birth on a Class 10 marksheet after the exam results are declared. However, if there's a genuine mistake, some education boards allow corrections under strict conditions. This usually needs to be done within a specific time frame after the result is issued and requires valid documents like a birth certificate. In some cases, a court order may also be needed to support the correction request.

You cannot change your date of birth on your 10th marksheet directly. However, you can apply for a new birth certificate by submitting an application to the municipal officer, explaining that your birth certificate was not issued at the time of birth due to being born in a remote area.

Once you get the corrected birth certificate, you can write an application to RBSE/CBSE and attach the new birth certificate to request a correction in your 10th marksheet or apply for a duplicate marksheet with the correct date of birth.
