How to apply for caste rectification

06-Aug-2023 (In Documentation Law)
I correctly belong to 'Nayinda' community. But due to reasons unkown my grandmother has given caste in my father's school records as 'Naidu'. My father has also not changed it till now. And he even gave as 'Naidu' caste in all my school records. Till now I have not taken any sort of reservation benefits in my education or elsewhere. Now I wish to appear for UPSC exams under OBC category. What should I do? a) obtain caste certificate as ‘Naidu’ and proceed further? In this case, if someone complains after I’m selected for the service that I originally belonged to ‘Nayinda’, but have applied under ‘Naidu’. Will my father’s and my school records suffice to defend our stand as ‘Naidu’.? b) OR apply for caste rectification and then obtain caste certificate as ‘Nayinda’? I approached civil court in this regard, but the court dismissed the suit saying Caste rectification is not under its jurisdiction. Please guide.

Hi, As per your query it is understood that the caste certificate of your parents as well as yours do not state the correct caste. Kindly approach the District Magistrate or Social Welfare Department and apply for a fresh/rectification of caste certificate. The department will conduct an enquiry and based on the enquiry report after consultation with neighboring families, if the caste as mentioned in the request application is same, then the new caste certificate will be issued. It is true that the court can only direct the department to conduct an enquiry to assess the correctness of the caste as stated by you and issuance of the caste certificate.

First thing is it is wrong to approach the civil court If the suit is dismissed you may prefer an appeal n further agitate the matter That apart is nayinda caste better beneficial than naidu as per your study
