Got married in Maharashtra can I get it registered in different state

Currently I am in Bangalore. 5 months back I got married in Maharashtra. Can I get marriage certificate from Bangalore ?
You can only get a marriage certificate from Maharashtra as each state has a separate law under which marriage certificate is issued. However, you can apply for the certificate via registered post. For more details on how to apply for the marriage certificate, please contact my office.

Normally the place where you get married gets the jurisdiction so it better to get the marriage certificate in Maharashtra. However, you can take the original invitation card and 6 photographs of your marriage go to the Sub registrar where your place of residence is then convince him you should get the marriage certificate.
