Namaste!

Hospitals keep records only for a specific time period. There may or may not be correlating entries with the municipal corporation having jurisdiction of the given area. We may need to check with both.

I'd love to offer you my assistance regarding the same. Feel free to connect.

Dear Sir/Ma'am,

The Hospitals usually keeps the birth records for 6 years. You can try checking with the primary and secondary school where he studied.
Or, It's advisable for you to find out from your maternal uncle on these points:
(a) Whether it was summers or winters? - so that its easier for you to tell the governmental hospital or school where he studied and submitted documents
(b) Whether there was any major festival or something around his birth? - so that we can check the English calendar for that festival in the year 1972

There are technologies to determine the age of the person but to determine the actual date of birth that won't be helpful.

You can email me with all the relevant festivals or occasions you will be able to find out in the year 1972.

Thank you. Hope this will be helpful.

Given the time lapse, record may not exist for your maternal uncle. You have not mentioned the place / city, so all the more difficult. In early 70s there was no computerisation as well, so the chances are very bleak. You can go through the affidavit route or pick any arbitary date and start using that in documents. The day you are able to get one government issued document, you can start using it all other places.
