Does spelling error in marksheet effect recruitment to govt.

I had passed my ssc exam in 2010 from Maharashtra board. There is single letter error in my marksheet . In marksheet my surname is printed as ' ' whereas the correct one is ' ' a single alphabet error of 'e' . I will be applying for govt exam will it cause a problem for me? Please help

It wouldn't cause a problem in your competitive examinations.
But I would still advice you to get the error corrected because a Standard X certificate is an important document and is used as proof in many cases.
