Did not receive the Link document when bought property, what will hapn

We bought 120 yards of place from a person. He gave me all documents except linked document. We asked him for it, but he said that he lost it. Is it lead to any problem?How can we get its equivalent document?
You can approach the registrar office for link documents for your property. Even in the absence of a link document, you can get mutation done and get the new owner details updated in the revenue records maintained by civic bodies like Municipalities, Panchayats or Municipal Corporations.
