Can FIR and Affidavit be filed from USA

Hello, I have lost my academic marksheets and as per my (Mumbai) university's process, a FIR and an Affidavit (on Rs. 100 Stamp paper) for the loss of mark-sheet has to be filed. The problem is that I'm based in USA and would like to know how can I obtain an affidavit and file FIR if I'm not in the country. Can a friend/colleague do these tasks for me? If yes, what all will he need for completing these tasks of FIR and Affidavit creation. Thanks
I am really sorry but both the FIR and the Affidavit are documents that can be filed and executed only by yourself.
Luckily, Mumbai city has started the facility of filing a FIR online. You can simply do a google search to get the link.
In the case of an affidavit, you can visit the Consular wing of the Indian Embassy in the United States of America.
Although I would personally advise you to first write to the University authorities and ask for alternatives or else simply apply for duplicate documents in the University through a friend.

the said process can be done by a lawyer for you in India. all the documents can be made and couriered to you. you can sign them in front of a notary public in States and them courier them back in India along with an authority letter to allow your lawyer/friend to collect the duplicates on your behalf.
