Wife irritated me, then recorded my angry behavior now blackmailing me

07-Sep-2023 (In Divorce Law)
Hi, my wife kept irritated me on a regular basis for few months, on trivial issues. Also her Parents abused my parents on phone and when I reacted and raised my voice, she had me audio recorded on multiple occasion. She is now threatening me for a 498a case for mental cruelty. Can I deny my voice in court or if the audio is not related to dowry/threat to life, can she still file a 498a against me.

Case Depends on material, she has recorded. Moreover you can prove your side of story. Voice recordings are not substantial piece of evidences, and required to be scrutinised carefully. Do not worry there is always a way out.

You you need to hire an advocate immediately for this case if you have this apprehension that she might go for 498a or Domestic violence …you have to submit one apprehension intimation complaint to the concerned police station so that your bonafide intention must be shown in in case she goes to court thank you ..b in touch

she can always file a case of 498A against you since she has recordings of you being aggressive towards her. you can file a case of restitution of conjugal rights if you want your wife to return to your home and resume marital relationship with you. in the alternative if you do not want to stay with your wife you can file for divorce directly in court
